Methodology of Teaching

Christopher believes in preserving the authenticity of each dance, which is why he stresses the importance of understanding the historical background and ethnological perspectives of each dance.

Christopher's teaching emphasizes integrated movement, theoretical fundamentals, alignment, dance vocabulary, and the development of internal artistic expression. Dancing is both an art form and a sport - in order to truly make each dance impressive and exciting, Christopher choreographs each routine to fit his students' personalities, styles and abilities.

Christopher incorporates various neurological teaching methods into his lessons. He uses both right-brain (intuitive, visual, perceptive) and left-brain (logical, rational, objective) teaching methodologies, in order to reach his students. His teaching methods encompass auditory, visual and kinesthetic learning techniques to better adapt to his students' varying learning styles.

Dancing is a great way to exercise the body and mind; Christopher teaches the fundamentals of movement and how to condition the body for dance; through stretch and strength techniques. In his experience, different dancing fundamentals have helped figure skaters, fashion models and other aspiring professionals to gain confidence.
